Busy Bee

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with a drawing of a bee! What initially gave me the idea to draw this was while I was taking the trash out, I looked at our sunflowers and saw a bumble bee getting nectar from them and I thought, “That’s a great idea!” And thus, this drawing was born! I had a ball using the brush and methods I used to draw this, and I’m really happy with the results! Another thing that inspired me to make this was I have a friend that loves bugs! A fun fact about bumblebees is that they live in smaller groups than honey bees and do not tend to swarm! Overall, I’m really proud of this drawing and I hope that I can draw something good next! Thanks for reading, and I will see you again next week!

Good Luck

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with a food related art piece! This is a bowl of fortune cookies! I used a different brush to give it a nice texture, and I think it worked great! I’m really pleased with the shading too! It was a little difficult drawing the bowl, but I think it turned out okay! A fact about fortune cookies is that they didn’t originate in China. Instead, they originated in Japan. Another fact is that it’s hard to pinpoint who invented them, but people believe that a man named Makoto Hagiwara was the one who created them. Overall, I had a blast drawing them and I hope I can come up with something unique next time! Thanks for reading, and I will see you again next week!

Cotton Candy

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with another sweet that’s guaranteed to rot your teeth! It’s cotton candy! I was hit by yet another art block meteorite this week, but when I watched a new episode from a TV show this week, I got the idea of drawing cotton candy! So here it is! I didn’t have too much trouble drawing this sweet treat, and I think all of my effort really paid off! I used different brushes to attain the fluffy effect. A couple fun facts about cotton candy is that it was co-created by a candy maker and a dentist and it’s actually healthier than most sweets because it’s only made from two ingredients which is air and colored sugar which means that there’s no fat content at all. Overall, I had a blast drawing this and I can’t wait to draw more sweets! Thanks for reading, and I will see you again next week!

Cherry Tree

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this this week I return with another nature piece! I was hit with yet another art block meteorite, so I thought of my favorite flower and decided to draw cherry blossoms! I was initially going to draw the flowers themselves, but I went with a tree and I’m really proud of the results! A fun fact about the blossoms is that they are edible! They are used in a lot of Japanese teas and sweets! They taste fruity and sweet, sometimes sour, almost like a real cherry! I apologize for not coming up with something different, but I hope that this can suffice! Overall, I had fun drawing this and I think my efforts were worth it! Thanks for reading, and I will see you again next week!

Disney Style

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with a drawing of my persona in the Disney art style! This was an idea that I got when I saw an edit of Ariel with blonde hair, and I realized that she looks a lot like me, and that’s where I got my idea for this! I put in a lot of effort, and I think it all paid off! If you’re wondering who that blue guy next to me is, that’s Huggy Wuggy! He’s my favorite character of all time and I wanted to add him to this drawing as my sidekick. He’s from an indie horror game called Poppy Playtime! Overall, I had a blast drawing this and I hope I can come up with something different! Thanks for reading, and I will see you again next week!

Nodding Thistle

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with something that’s been growing in my front yard! This is called a noddingthistle! Last October, I moved from California to Texas and it’s been quite the adventure! There’s so much wildlife and the scenery is beautiful! I got hit by another art block meteorite this week, but I got the idea to draw this weed when I took my dog out! A fun fact about nodding thistles is that they’re an invasive weed, but they provide nectar for the bees and butterflies! Personally, I think the  lilac blossoms that grow on them are very pretty and unique! I used a few different brushes to draw this art piece, and I’m very pleased with the results! I had a blast drawing this and I hope I can draw something different! Thanks for reading, and I will see you again next week!

Snowcone

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with another treat to appease your sweet tooth! I was texting my best friend last week when she showed me a GIF of Stitch from Lilo & Stitch eating a snowcone and that’s where I got the idea for this drawing! It was a bit of a challenge to draw the ice, but I think it paid off! I’m very proud of how it turned out! A fact about snow cones is that the machine used to create them were invented in 1919 by a man named Samuel Bert and he sold the treat at the State Fair of Texas. Overall, I had a blast drawing this and I hope I can come up with something different! Thanks for reading, and I will see you again next week!
