I have something important I’d like to announce. Since tomorrow is Christmas, there will be no drawing this week. I want to spend the holiday with my family and not worry about what I’ll draw next. So, sorry for no artwork! I suggest that you all do the same! Spend Christmas with the ones you live! Merry Christmas, and have a happy new year!

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with a drawing that wasn’t from my art class! Yesterday was the final day for my second semester of college, but admittedly, I’ve been so lazy since I got out that I haven’t had the motivation to draw my normal artwork, so I drew something simple for now! I also tried to experiment with my style a bit, so that’s why the snowman looks soft, as my best friend described it! Overall, I had fun drawing this! Self Portrait

 

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with my last assignment for my art class! Since my college semester ends next week, I’m going to admit that at first it was hard for me, but then it eventually got easy! I even had a little fun with it! We had to type a description to go with it, so here’s what I wrote! 

“For my self portrait painting, I chose the element of love as it best describes my personality. Love is what my entire life is centered around. I have a friend group that I love hanging out with every week, and I have a family that has loved and supported me for the past 20 years of my life. But one factor that can center around love are my special interests. For as long as I can remember, fictional characters have always been in my mind, “rent free” as the cool kids call it. From morning to night, I’m always thinking about them. When I’m not thinking about them, I’m looking forward to going out with my family, and making plans for when me and my friends can hang out. All three of these are what make me happy in life, and I’m thankful to have them all!”

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with another painting for my art class! This week, we had to visualize a new genre of music with our own choice of genres! Mine was dubstep, pop, and classical! It too a bit of work to paint this, but I’m proud of how it turned out, overall! Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I managed to finish my homework a day early, and I actually gathered the motivation to draw something! So I drew my persona relaxing with a nice cup of a homemade caramel Frappuccino, like she deserves! It felt good to draw on my tablet again after so long, and I worked really hard on this artwork! Two-Point Perspective Art

 

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with another assignment for my art class! The assignment was to draw either a one point perspective artwork, or a two point perspective one! I went in the two-point perspective direction. I also had to incorporate six value scales, which include the following; hatching, (vertical, horizontal, and diagonal) cross hatching, stippling, and scumbling. It took a lot of thought to come up with this concept, but I think it turned out great in the end! Thanks for reading, and I will see you again next week!

We Are Family

 

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with another assignment for my art class! Here’s the description I wrote for it! The ninth, and final drawing, is titled, “Loving”. This is meant to be a self portrait piece. The reason why I picked loving is to represent how I feel towards everyone I love. I’m a very loving person, and I enjoy giving and receiving affection to and from others. The people that I love in my life are my family, my friends, and I’ll even show kindness to strangers I see outside. The figures in this drawing are meant to represent two people that are hugging. The arch at the top resembles the top of a heart. Personally, I didn’t have much fun drawing this, but it looks great! I know I haven’t been drawing art like I normally do, but college has been sucking up my time and energy to do anything. But my first year ends on December 17th, so things should return to normal by then! Thanks for reading, and I will see you again next week!

Family Is Forever

 

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with a drawing of a tree for an art assignment for college. Here’s the description I wrote for it. This is my entry for the self portrait assignment. The initial shape is a tree, which represents my love for adventure and how I enjoy traveling around the world and see all of the different sights, sounds, and people. If you look at the left branch, it’s actually a paintbrush, which represents my creative side. I love to draw, and hope that one day I can make a living off of it. And if you look at the right branch, you’ll see that it’s actually a spatula, which represents my hobby of cooking. It’s a small passion, but I have fun doing it! And lastly, the two figures at the sides below the branches are people. They represent my love for my family. I’m a family-oriented person, and they’re what inspires me to keep moving forward in life. Thanks for reading, and I will see you again next week!

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with another drawing of a koi fish I drew for my art class in college! I have decided that for every week until December, I will share my college drawings here! The assignment for this one was to draw a koi fish using the six elements of art! Which is form, line, shape, space, texture, and value. Personally, it was very hard to come up with a design like this, but I think it turned out great in the end! Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with another drawing of Winslow! It’s for my mini series where I draw him using pictures of John Mulaney as references! I am particularly proud of this drawing, because of how Winslow’s pose came out. It took a lot of work to get the shading to look right, but I think it all paid off in the end! I didn’t know what I was gonna draw this week, but when I was looking at pictures of John Mulaney, I couldn’t help but see Winslow in his place, so I figured I’d start a miniseries of Winslow drawn in his poses! Hello everyone! Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with another scenic drawing! After seeing all of the attention my last drawing of a forest has got, I decided, “Why not draw another one?” So here it is! I saw the outfit on Pinterest, and decided to draw my persona wearing it! As for the trees and grass, they’re still from a preset brush, but I drew the bush all by myself! It took a lot of effort, but I think it was worth it in the end! Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with a drawing of me dressed up as a plague nurse! Recently, I’ve become fascinated with plague doctors because of the way they’re dressed. While I was looking at pictures of them, I came across these plague nurses which I thought was cute and couldn’t resist drawing myself as one! I eventually found out that plague nurses don’t actually dress up like this, but it’s still a cute concept none-the-less! I also drew this because I’ve heard of the Delta variant of COVID-19 going around and I just wanted to tell you all to wash your hands, get vaccinated, and just be careful! Recently, I had started a habit of having an apple alongside dinner, and that made me think of a fruit bat. And so came along this drawing! Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with another drawing for my miniseries of me wearing pretty dresses I found online! I can’t remember where I found this beautiful dress, but I loved how pretty it looked! So I finally drew myself wearing it! She’s a friendly, outgoing person that gets along well with everyone, but she can be sassy when she needs to be! She’s also a professional ice skater, and I plan on drawing her in her ice skating outfit in the future! She’s best friends with Lewis, but she has a crush on him. His name’s Lewis, and his head is a fully animated carousel that can go round-and-round and can be used as a light source in dark places! He’s very calm and down to Earth, just a nice guy in general!
