Ladybug

 

 

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with an insect art piece! It’s a lady bug on a leaf! Originally, I was going to draw a group of hydrangeas, but they looked too complicated, so I decided to draw a ladybug since it was my Plan B! I tried to put in a lot of detail into this art piece, and I think it really paid off! I’m especially pleased with how the shading on the ladybug came out. Overall, I’m very proud of this drawing and am considering drawing more bug related art pieces! Thanks for reading, and I will see you again next week!

Little Debbie Fancy Cakes

 

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with another dessert related art piece! These are Little Debbie fancy cakes! I wanted to draw these because they’re my favorite dessert. I could eat these everyday. The only thing I don’t like about them is the little girl that appears on the packaging. She gives me the creeps. Anyway, a fact about Little Debbie’s is that the little girl was modeled after O.D. McKee’s granddaughter. I had a little trouble with the icing and felt like I could’ve drawn them better, but maybe I can improve! Overall, I had fun drawing this! Thanks for reading, and I will see you again next week!

Jar of M&M’s

 

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with a candy related art piece! This is supposed to be a jar full of M&M’s! I was hit by the art block meteorite and I couldn’t think of anything to draw, so I looked on Google to see what candy I could draw when I came across a jar of M&M’s! Because of that fact that it looked challenging and I wanted to do a detailed art piece, I decided to go with it! And thus, this drawing was born! I enjoyed drawing each individual M&M, and I’m pleased with how I did the highlights! Overall, I had a blast drawing this and I’m proud of how it turned out! Strawberry Cake

 

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with a dessert related art piece! It’s a slice of strawberry cake! I felt compelled to draw this when I saw a picture of this beautiful strawberry cake on Twitter and I went, “I should draw that!” And thus, this drawing was born! I tried to add a lot of detail into this art piece, and I think it all paid off! I could have done a better job with the whipped cream, but maybe I can learn how to draw it someday! Busy Bee

 

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with a drawing of a bee! What initially gave me the idea to draw this was while I was taking the trash out, I looked at our sunflowers and saw a bumble bee getting nectar from them and I thought, “That’s a great idea!” And thus, this drawing was born! I had a ball using the brush and methods I used to draw this, and I’m really happy with the results! Another thing that inspired me to make this was I have a friend that loves bugs! A fun fact about bumblebees is that they live in smaller groups than honey bees and do not tend to swarm! Overall, I’m really proud of this drawing and I hope that I can draw something good next! Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with a food related art piece! This is a bowl of fortune cookies! I used a different brush to give it a nice texture, and I think it worked great! I’m really pleased with the shading too! It was a little difficult drawing the bowl, but I think it turned out okay! A fact about fortune cookies is that they didn’t originate in China. Instead, they originated in Japan. Another fact is that it’s hard to pinpoint who invented them, but people believe that a man named Makoto Hagiwara was the one who created them. Cotton Candy

 

Hello, Olivia Rain here, and this week I return with another sweet that’s guaranteed to rot your teeth! It’s cotton candy! I was hit by yet another art block meteorite this week, but when I watched a new episode from a TV show this week, I got the idea of drawing cotton candy! So here it is! I didn’t have too much trouble drawing this sweet treat, and I think all of my effort really paid off! I used different brushes to attain the fluffy effect. A couple fun facts about cotton candy is that it was co-created by a candy maker and a dentist and it’s actually healthier than most sweets because it’s only made from two ingredients which is air and colored sugar which means that there’s no fat content at all. Overall, I had a blast drawing this and I can’t wait to draw more sweets! Thanks for reading, and I will see you again next week!
